About The Position

Responsible for developing crane operating skills through peer-to-peer training and complete support crane operator tasks. Additionally, perform on the job crane set ups and rigging tasks.

Requirements

  • 6 months of Mobile Equipment Operations Experience
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies (This includes Line of Progressing requirements for internal employees where LOP exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
  • Must be self-motivated, display leadership qualities and serve as an active member of a high performance team.
  • Ability and willingness to learn about new equipment for the purpose of task training in the safe operation of cranes.
  • Ability to learn load movement indicator device (LMI). (Mobile Crane Computer)
  • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
  • Working knowledge of Hydraulic equipment
  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, Blueprints and schematics for trouble shooting and repair
  • Good safety and attendance records
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime at a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week, 365 day/ year operation.
  • Pass Medical Crane Physical equivalent to Department of Transportation Requirements
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for learning how to safely operate all types of cranes up to 150 tons.
  • Perform on-the-job activities in crane operations discipline. Which includes inspecting and assuring that outriggers are properly positioned before each job, escort mobile cranes that are being transported to jobsite, and assuring fluid levels are checked and no damage to equipment.
  • Assist management in complying with Company policies and procedures and environmental compliance. Including Rigging inspections and all rigging before lifts.
  • Assist with the inspection reports, audits information, lift plans, etc., for cranes and boom trucks and performing minor repairs on equipment.
  • Perform work area and equipment safety inspections
  • Perform other duties as required
