About The Position
Join Our Caring Laboratory Team at Wilson Medical Center! Do you have a passion for science, accuracy, and helping patients? We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. At Wilson Medical Center, we serve patients of all ages in a critical access hospital setting , providing care in our emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient services. You'll be part of a supportive team performing a wide variety of testing in: Blood Banking Hematology Coagulation Serology Urinalysis Molecular Testing
Requirements
- Certified MLS (4-year) or MLT (2-year) through ASCP or equivalent.
- Applicants with a bachelor's degree working toward certification within one year are encouraged to apply.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
Responsibilities
- Perform and report tests of all complexity levels as defined by CLIA.
- Interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing for patients of all ages.
