About The Position

POSITION: MLS Tech (PLS Plant) SHIFT: M- F 2p – 10p with occ. OT LOCATION: Winchester STARTING PAY RATE: $27.28 A tiered progression system is in place for the MLS Tech role, with levels 2 and 3 achievable based on demonstrated skills, abilities, training, and tenure. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Duties include operating the plant, clean up, operating a loader, shuttlewagon, haul truck, skid steer and perform general preventative maintenance activities (lubrication, inspection, etc.). Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manage. Successfully manages plant operation and sampling. Successfully manages the load out facility. An operator for the new MLS plant consistently demonstrates ability to successfully operate their plant by performing the following duties (see below). Drives active safety engagement among fellow employees. Through use of formal safety stand-downs, SLAMs, and informal shift meetings. Performs pre-shift inspections as required by MSHA and DMME. Demonstrates proficient working knowledge of the plant and its operational needs. Understands the intricacies of the plant to enable effective and timely troubleshooting. Demonstrates the ability to operate independently with minimal interaction from Supervision. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication between himself/ herself and co-workers. Successfully manages plant operation and sampling of product at various stages of the process. Successfully manages the load out facility to load railcars/ trucks accurately and according to schedule. Maintains exceptional housekeeping throughout the plant (including outside area, control room, lab, etc.). Ensures work areas (outside plant area, labs, dump areas, control rooms, electrical buildings, etc.) are kept clean and organized. Ensures paperwork is in order (including LOTOTO sheets, interlock bypass forms, pre-shift inspection forms, mobile and stationary inspection forms, etc.). Perform routine or one-off assignments as requested by Supervisor, Kiln Operator, Process Engineer, or Process Manager Depending on the Operator’s prior work history and qualifications, they may be required to fill in occasionally as a kiln operator, assistant, lime loader, etc. The Operator shall be task-trained on the following equipment: Shuttlewagon (both) Hitachi haul truck CAT 777 haul truck CAT 980M and 980K CAT 972M CAT 246 skid steer

Requirements

  • Safely replace or assist other workers as needed
  • Safely perform other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person
  • Valid Driver's License
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
