About The Position

The?MLS Next Pro & Academy Athletic Trainer Coordinator?will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day sports medicine operations with the MLS Next Pro team and in ensuring support for the youth athletic environment. The Athletic Trainer is required to be a certified athletic trainer that either graduated from an accredited undergrade or graduate Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). The role will vary from MLS Next Pro to Academy, but they are primarily with MLS Next Pro. The Athletic Trainer provides the day-to-day athletic training needs for MLS Next Pro. In this capacity, the Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for players’ medical problems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in health-related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of sports medicine.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Enthusiastic and energetic team player.
Possess exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize/multi-task.
Possesses a strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.
Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer.
In good standing with NATABOC and an active member of NATA (or CATA).
Licensed to practice athletic training in the State of Florida.
Current professional CPR/AED certification.
Personal professional liability insurance.
Applicants must have work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis and must not require work visa sponsorship from Inter Miami CF now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
All applicants must pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Performs as Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of players. Health care includes but is not limited to first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals.
Maintain communication with the Head of Health and the club’s medical services.
Coordinate coverage schedules, staff, and training room operations for the academy.
Maintain a complete and up to date roster of player health and participation records in League-provided electronic medical record system.
Keep athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean and organized.
Create and update an inventory of equipment and supplies needed for daily activities and travels.
Comply with all League medical policies, procedures and protocols.
Comply with OSHA Standards with regards to bloodborne pathogens.
Provide medical assistance to other IMCF teams as needed.
Travel with assigned teams to provide coverage.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
