About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.

Requirements

• High school diploma in addition to one of the following:
• Associate's degree
• 2 years of college (48 semester credits)
• Pass the PRAXIS Paraprofessional test

Responsibilities

• Bi-Lingual in the Spanish and English languages
• Ability to read and write documentation in the Spanish and English languages
• Ability to speak fluently in the Spanish and English languages
• Ability to interpret during parent/teacher conferences
• Ability to work one-on-one with students, parents and staff members
• Willingness to be trained to assist with the WIDA testing program
• Ability to assist with the instruction of ELL students in traditional classroom settings
• Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
