About The Position

3rd shift job opportunity: Monday-Thursday 9pm-7am JOB SUMMARY: The Mixer is responsible for mixing dyes and chemicals according to specifications to make formulations that meet the quality and efficiency standards of the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Weighs out quantities of solvent and non-solvent base resins and chemicals, following formula sheet. 2. Inspect laminate formulas for correct color and adjust color of batch if necessary. 3. Move and handle 55-gallon drums to mix batches, make space and dispose of empty drums in accordance with State and Federal regulations. 4. Record batch quality control results, and other related necessary recordkeeping. 5. Inspect and maintain hazardous waste drums ensuring proper handling and paperwork, including proper labeling, manifests and log sheets. 6. Maintain daily and weekly inventory of products. Perform Quality Control Inspections. 7. Interface with Production Scheduler and Supervisor to plan and mix batches in accordance with production schedule. 8. Wear personal protective equipment in designated areas and follow all safety policies. Wear clean room attire, when required, in Coating & Laminating areas. 9. Working knowledge of HAZCOM and Hazardous Waste operations. 10. Adherence to all rules and regulations for the handling of hazardous waste and chemicals. 11. Attend Company provided Haz Com and Hazardous Waste Annual Training. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep area clean at all times Other duties may be assigned MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (QMS/EMS) RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate, or assist, in identifying how the work that you do that affects the quality or impacts the environmental aspects of the products or services we provide to customers. Improve your work processes. Write procedures or work instructions that describe your work. Provide input and verify that documented procedures are adequate and accurate. Understand and use your work/job instructions. Understand our quality and environmental policies and how they apply to you. Keep records and data. Participate in internal audits. Participate in ongoing process improvement. Participate in external registration and surveillance audits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Computer literate
  • Read and write English
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible 12-hour schedules
  • OSHA respirator protection fitting and training and certification
  • Fire Protection training and certification
  • RCRA training and certification
  • Must be able to wear a full or partial cartridge respirator.
  • Requires climbing of ladders, crawling into tight areas and extended period of times on feet.
  • Eyesight capable of inspecting and reading labels and documents.
  • Able to lift or move 80 lbs.
  • Clean shaven to allow proper use of respirator.
