About The Position

The Mixer Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring all equipment used in the mixing of raw materials, creating batches for PVC pipe production, and ensuring processes are carried out safely and efficiently in compliance with established company specifications and quality standards ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including assisting other departments, supporting production changeovers, and participating in training initiatives. • Maintain work area in compliance with Total Housekeeping Management (THM) standards. • Work under the direction of the Supervisor. • Set up and operate all equipment related to mixing raw materials. • Operate hand trucks and power trucks as needed. • Accurately weigh all ingredients to ensure consistent batch composition. • Maintain proper temperatures, mixing times, and other parameters to produce quality mixtures. • Record all required data, including inventory, usage, and mixing conditions. • Perform raw PVC resin receiving operations, including: • Opening hatches and attaching ventilation filters for each bin. • Connecting receiving hoses and valve filters. • Activating pumps and adjusting material flow (vacuum). • Diverting resin to alternate silos when necessary. • Measure PVC raw resin bins and blend silos; report findings to the Supervisor. • Report any unsatisfactory equipment conditions to the Supervisor. • Keep equipment and the working area clean and orderly. • Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions at all times. • Train inexperienced employees as required. • Maintain forklift certification. Supervisory Responsibilites: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements

  • High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
  • Training: The first 90 days on the job training to demonstrate the ability to learn and perform the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, fractions, percentages, decimals, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate powered vehicles (e.g., forklifts, sweepers).
  • Sight capability to distinguish proper product identification, warning indicators, and operational signals.
  • Hearing capability to distinguish differences between warning alarms and normal operating sounds.
  • Sight capability to verify accuracy and neatness of required job assignments.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed for operating, cleaning, or packaging equipment and products.
  • Ability to maintain balance and body equilibrium when walking, standing, or crouching in all areas, even with limited supervision.
  • Ability to verbally communicate in person or by telephone with coworkers to complete job requirements.
  • Ability to clearly hear and understand verbal communication in person or by telephone.

  • Ability to visually confirm the quality level of raw materials to determine proper use.
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders or steps, fixed or portable, to access all necessary areas.

  • Ability to walk through, under, and around equipment with a minimum clearance of 30".
  • Ability to feel objects, textures, size, shape, and temperature using fingertips.
  • Ability to grasp and safely use manual and powered tools (e.g., power saws, drills, hammers, presses, latches).
  • Sight capability to safely operate machinery and tools at arm’s length.
