The Advanced Cores Group (ACG) is seeking motivated, Analog/Mixes Signal Design Engineers to provide support to our Wireless Communications Group located at ADI’s RTP/Raleigh, North Carolina Office. ADI’s ACG group works on cutting edge, high-speed, switched capacitor pipelined ADC products in advanced CMOS nodes. The group specializes in designing very high-speed analog circuits, develop digitally assisted circuit techniques and digital background calibration algorithms, supplemented with world class facilities and lab. Designers go through all phases of product development from feasibility study, development to lab evaluation and help develop test solutions. It will be a very satisfying experience for somebody looking for a job in high-speed analog and digitally assisted analog circuit design areas.

Requirements

  • Enrolment in master’s degree in electrical engineering; Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Class work related to Analog IC design.
  • ADC architecture knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of analysis, design, and simulation of transistor level blocks such as switch. capacitor circuits, comparators, and op-amps with Cadence and SPICE-type simulation tools.
  • Good understanding of physical design (layout) of integrated circuits (ICs.).
  • Exposure to sub-micron process nodes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • ADC architecture knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Experience in high-speed analog circuit design is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with high-speed clocking is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with background calibration techniques is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analog and mixed signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, verification, and evaluation to meet the performance goals in advanced CMOS nodes.
  • Interact with physical (layout) design engineers to optimize the physical design to meet design performance metrics.
  • Perform lab evaluation and debug of state-of-the-art pipeline ADCs.
  • Work with a lab technician to setup and maintain test equipment.
