When you join the V Team, our network becomes even stronger. #vteamlife This internship with Verizon’s VGS Hub Analytics team focuses on resolving complex supply chain inefficiencies driven by uncertain project timelines, material requirements, and supplier lead times. As the right candidate, you will leverage a strong mathematical toolkit and Python proficiency to develop AI/ML and optimization models—specifically Multi-Echelon Inventory Optimization—to streamline a four-stage distribution network. By modeling the flow of materials from suppliers to network build sites, you will aim to reduce inventory costs by hundreds of millions of dollars while improving service levels. This role offers hands-on experience in Fortune 30 operations, SAP integration, and large-scale capacity analytics within a high-noise, real-world environment.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a MBA or Master's degree program in Operations or directly related area (i.e. Logistics, Supply Chain, Strategic Management, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent major with an expected completion date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • This co-op position is limited to students enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management (MIT) who are currently enrolled in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or work experience in one or more of the following: Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Analytics & Data Science, or Manufacturing.
  • Experience in analytics, finance and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
