About The Position

This Part-Time role supports the Operations department by handling customer aerial refueling requests, generating flight plans utilizing information received, and providing flight following of company aircraft in accordance with Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) processes and Federal Aviation Regulations. Individuals are responsible for briefing weather, and known hazards that may exist throughout the flight, and coordinating the day of aerial refueling operations to ensure safe and efficient service up until the submission of post-flight documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in aviation or equivalent.
  • Airline Dispatcher, KC-135 Pilot or 5+ years' Boom Operator with operational experience and prior participation in Large Military exercises (i.e., Red Flag, Rim Pack, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Aerial Refueling Operations, National Airspace System, flight plan management, and customer service strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Air-to-Air Refueling planning, procedures, and tactics.
  • In-depth knowledge of air-to-air refueling planning, procedures, and tactics.
  • Plan missions that adhere to FAA guidance and military procedures during large exercises while operating in confined spaces.
  • Ability to calculate take-off and landing data, accurate fuel loads, and flight timing.
  • Detail oriented. Must be able to accurately pass information across all spectrums.
  • Ability to use Foreflight in conjunction with scheduling software to plan and flight manage a comprehensive flight plan.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and work effectively, both individually and as a member of a project team, while ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to collaboratively work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in written format.

  • FAA Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
  • The employee must be a US citizen.
  • The employee must be able to hold and maintain a Top Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
  • Employee must have and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Aerial Refueling Operations, National Airspace System, flight plan management, and customer service strongly preferred.
  • FAA Dispatcher Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather aerial refueling details from the customers and create a logical flight plan in ForeFlight
  • The flight plan will take into consideration performance, maximum takeoff and landing weight, calculating a departure time to meet scheduled rendezvous, and determining fuel requirement to support customer offload request, alternates, and landing minimum reserve fuel (while complying with the Federal Aviation Administration minimums).
  • Generate detailed mission package to include all documents required for execution
  • Brief flight information, to-include Notices to Airman, flight weather, Area entry/exit procedures, air refueling details, and any changes
  • Coordinate with Pilot in Command and Director of Operations to make critical go/no-go flight release decisions to ensure safe and efficient flight operations
  • Track and communicate with the aircrew throughout the flight and provide maintenance status, fuel status, and any pertinent information regarding the flight to Maintenance and Operations leadership
  • Prepares effective and timely contingency plans to recover from service disruptions due to weather, ATC, mechanical issues, etc.
  • Collect and input post flight information and draft routine reports
  • All other duties assigned
