Purpose and Impact: Amentum is currently seeking a MIL SATCOM Mission Planner with knowledge of Military Satellite Communications, especially familiarity with EHF and AEHF SATCOM and associated Satellite Communications terminals (MILSTAR, SMART-T, VPS) to join our dynamic team in the Northern VA area. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses. Work Schedule: Work is performed Monday – Friday in office. 8-hour per day with flex time authorized. Essential Responsibilities: Model and analyze AEHF environmental factors using the Mission Planning Subsystem Create unit-level scenarios using the AEHF Global Scenario. Produce and distribute communications plans to operational users. Operate, test, and provide feedback on emerging and replacement radio and communication systems. Apply in-depth technical knowledge to capture, plan and design information technology systems; tactical and strategic RF communications, especially DoD SATCOM and Line-of-Sight (LOS) systems, at the national level. Advise the customer on the development of technical approaches to solving engineering related problems. Support the formulation and execution of acquisition strategies. Develop technology Integration strategies, Requirements Development, Systems Architectures, Conceptual Designs and Concept of Operations. Apply excellent working knowledge and consultations in data communications, fiber optics, video teleconferencing and cryptographic equipment. Participate in activities to ensure knowledge creation/sharing and integration within and across the work program as appropriate. This position is not designated as a safety sensitive position.
