About The Position

Manage the Lockheed Martin Pre DD-250 Missile Body Organization at Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC), Naval Base Kitsap - Submarine Base Bangor, Washington, supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program. Manage activities in the areas of missile/motor assembly/disassembly, test, inspection and delivery through four subordinate managers working in four different production buildings and with a combined workforce that includes salaried and represented employees. Furnish management systems to achieve effective missile body operations required by ordnance documents and other DOD/Navy/LM requirements. Manage and perform missile body operations control functions including: Control Account Management (CAM), Earned Value Management (EVM), Production schedule and material control. Responsibilities include safety, mission success for technical, financial and schedule objectives, leadership and team building, and developing and maintaining customer interfaces. Position requires frequent communications with associate contractors and US Navy customer representatives. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Must be willing to relocate to the Silverdale, WA area. Candidates must possess senior leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives outlined below.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in engineering, business or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with an Interim Secret granted prior to start.
  • Strong customer relations skills and direct customer interface experience.
  • Must have a demonstrated leadership experience with experience being a leader of leaders.
  • Experience leading salaried and represented workforce (Union)
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Silverdale, WA area.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess at least 10 years’ experience with a Ballistic Missile Program.
  • Specific knowledge of the technical program management requirements for SWFPAC.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations.
  • Familiarity with D5 missile and motor processing requirements, processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with the FBM missile/support equipment technical community.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading highly effective teams to meet or exceed quality, cost, schedule and technical objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve safety objectives with a large hands-on/represented work force.
  • Demonstrated skills in change management and delegation.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, propose, and manage organizational budgets and schedules using EVM methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with root cause, corrective action and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to design and use metrics to critically assess organization, measure performance, and take corrective action.
  • Demonstrated effective problem and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong delegation skills with effective follow up techniques and ability to achieve closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with customers (internal and external), demonstrating sound situational reasoning and judgment.
  • Green Belt trained.
