About The Position

The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department have a Minor League Athletic Trainer position in the Dominican Republic for the 2025 season. The Athletic Trainer will work at the Angels Dominican Republic Academy as an Athletic Trainer with all daily responsibilities such as hands-on treatments, training room maintenance, rehab progressions, game coverage, and any other duties as assigned by Director of Minor League Medical. This is a 12-month position with requirement of working spring training in AZ and full championship season in the Dominican Republic. Start date is flexible. This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 4 01K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months, employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment and additional perks not listed above. The expected salary for this position can range from $50,000 - $60,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. The position will be located in Tempe, AZ during spring training and Boca Chica, Dominican Republic during championship season.

Requirements

• Current BOC Certification required. (Newly certified ATCs encouraged to apply)
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Willing to work long and flexible hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior baseball experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the DR Medical Staff in developing and implementing injury prevention programs.
• Provide immediate emergency and non-emergency care for injuries that occur during practices and games.
• Create and administer rehabilitation programs for injured players.
• Monitor and document the progress of injured athletes in the MLB electronic medical records system.
• Collaborate with S&C coaches, Dieticians, coaching staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive care.
• Set up and maintain the athletic training room, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Assist in the organization and implementation of daily treatment sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of player injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
• Communicate with coaching staff, medical staff and front office to provide updates on player health and injury status.
• Educate players on injury prevention, treatment options, and recovery protocols.
• Accompany the team on road trips to provide medical support during games, and escort players to medical appointments as directed by Director of Minor League Medical.
• Prepare necessary equipment and medical supplies for travel.
• Other duties as assigned.
