About The Position

The MET Church is located on the Northwest side of Houston and our mission is to invite people into meaningful relationship with God and each other. About This Role: The Ministry Assistant plays a key role in providing proactive administrative and planning support for ministry events, classes, and initiatives, helping ministries stay organized, prepared, and positioned to execute programming with excellence. This person will partner with ministry leaders by coordinating event logistics, supporting communications, maintaining ministry records, managing supplies and resources, and helping track planning timelines. The Assistant will serve as a liaison between ministry teams and the central planning process, helping leaders stay informed and accountable for finalizing event and programming details. Success in this role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a servant-hearted commitment to supporting ministry leaders and the overall mission of the church. Requirements

  • You are a fully committed follower of Jesus Christ and a member of The MET Church (or willing to transfer membership to The MET).
  • You agree with and act in accordance with The MET’s Statement of Beliefs.
  • Must be actively leading or participating in a discipleship small group.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technology & systems.
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and shifting priorities gracefully.

Responsibilities

  • Live out the core virtues and mission of The MET to invite others into meaningful relationship with God and each other.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of church systems, processes, and workflows to effectively support ministry operations.
  • Provide proactive planning support for ministry events, classes, and initiatives by coordinating logistics such as registrations, supplies, room setups, and event promotions.
  • Create and maintain event planning timelines and checklists for ministry events and recurring programming.
  • Initiate event planning timelines, track deliverables, and help ensure ministry leaders finalize event details and resource needs in a timely manner.
  • Encourage timely partnership with ministry and operation teams to be prepared and positioned to execute programming with excellence.
  • Anticipate supply and resource needs for ministry programming by maintaining inventory of supplies, curriculum materials, and event resources, including ordering and coordinating pick-up or delivery.
  • Provide support for baptism efforts through inventory tracking and ordering, scheduling volunteer assistance, and helping with room setup & tear down.
  • Assist ministry leaders in preparing and distributing communication materials for ministry events, classes, and initiatives, ensuring messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with ministry goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between ministry teams and the Planning Team to coordinate event scheduling and facility usage across the organization.
  • Initiate and manage event space reservation processes and follow up with ministry leaders to ensure event requests include accurate and complete setup and resource needs.
  • Collaborate closely with ministry leaders to align administrative support with ministry goals and objectives, helping leaders think through event details in an organized and prepared manner.
  • Maintain accurate church databases records and event registrations.
  • Encourage and support ministry leaders to keep accurate attendance for ministry events and programming.
  • Help ministry leaders maintain accurate ministry calendars and planning rhythms by ensuring key dates, milestones, and deadlines are documented and communicated.
  • Provide general administrative support to advance the overall mission of the church and assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned.
