About The Position

South Harriman Baptist Church (SHBC) in Harriman, TN is seeking a full-time or part-time Minister of Music & Worship. This role includes planning, preparation and leading a praise team and choir in worship services, conducting seasonal choir special performances, and working alongside the pastor and other staff to facilitate God honoring services each week. We desire that this individual will foster spiritual growth throught music for all ages. We are looking for someone who is creative, great communicator and can bring energetic leadership into the praise and worship ministry of our church. Our goal is to have a blended worship style, incorporating both traditional and modern songs in our services. Audio/visual experience is a plus. Our church does have multiple staff members, so the ability to work with a team is a must. SHBC is a friendly, loving Southern Baptist church with opportunities for growth. SHBC is located within 30 minutes of Knoxville, TN, and 1 1/2 hours from the Great Smoky Mountains, and Chattanooga, TN, in the heart of East Tennessee. Compensation is comparable with other Worship Minister positions in the southern region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct congregational singing
• Oversee all music ministry participants, including worship choir, soloists, and instrumentalists.
• Recruit and involve church members in worship ministry.
• Oversee the purchases of any music materials, instruments and sound equipment for the music ministry
• Communicate and coordinate weekly with choir, musicians, volunteers and staff to ensure smooth worship services.
• Serve as an active member of South Harriman Baptist Church, contributing to the overall vision and mission of SHBC.
