Members of Team Mingus will be paid $16.45 per hour of work. Mingus Duties and Responsibilities include: Appear at events and programs throughout the academic year. Interact with event attendees with enthusiasm, positivity, and excitement. Perform bits and stay within character while interacting with students, faculty, and staff. Serve as an ambassador for the life of Charles Mingus and reflections from his experiences. Speak to why Charles Mingus was chosen to be honored by name and why we have a Jazz Cat as a mascot. Preserve the identity of Mingus! We fully expect you to keep your involvement on Team Mingus a secret and NEVER tell friends when you are working an event. Doing so is grounds for being asked to leave Team Mingus. To Note: Being Mingus is rewarding, but NOT glamorous. It’s sweaty and sometimes stinky. It gets VERY hot and can be physically demanding. It can feel awkward at first, but being Mingus takes courage! Please note: In order to be Mingus you must be at least 5’7” (171 cm)
