About The Position

Millwright Maintenance Technician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment within a facility or industrial environment. This intermediate-level role requires a more advanced understanding of mechanical systems, including problem-solving and the ability to perform more complex repairs with minimal supervision. The technician will also contribute to preventive maintenance efforts, assist with system upgrades, and ensure optimal performance of all mechanical equipment. Millwright Maintenance Technician II will work independently or as part of a team to ensure systems run safely and efficiently. REQUIRED- TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN, AND OVERNIGHTS. DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Strong proficiency in mechanical repair techniques, including hand and power tools, welding, and other specialized maintenance tools.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, HVAC systems, compressors, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate corrective actions with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in preventive maintenance techniques and strategies to extend the life of mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS) for tracking work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Understanding safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures, and the ability to work safely in a mechanical environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in challenging situations.

  • DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or technical training in mechanical systems, HVAC, or industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with automated or robotic systems and industrial control systems.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to mentor junior technicians and contribute to training efforts.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency practices and green building technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems, including motors, pumps, HVAC systems, and conveyor belts.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical failures in machinery and equipment, applying advanced repair techniques.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and calibrating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in designing and implementing system upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency or capacity.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and maintenance teams to identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Replace worn-out or damaged parts such as bearings, seals, belts, and valves, ensuring that all repairs are made to the highest standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each task.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests, working quickly and effectively to minimize downtime and disruptions to facility operations.
  • Assist with the installation and calibration of new machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Mentor and guide Mechanical Technician I team members, providing technical support and assistance as needed.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Help maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and equipment needed for ongoing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Provide input into the planning and scheduling of routine maintenance tasks to maximize operational uptime and efficiency.
  • Contribute to developing and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preventive maintenance schedules.
