About The Position

Founded in 1972, GBS operates locations in North and South Carolina, including its custom millwork division, distributing specialty building products to customers in the Carolinas and parts of Georgia. US LBM is a leading distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, operating more than 400 locations across the country. A Millwork Install and Service Supervisor will supervise the work of a team of Millwork Install and Service technicians and leads. This position is responsible for overseeing the installation and service process in an efficient manner. The role involves working with other installers, following manufacturer directions and warranty requirements, tracking time and materials, maintaining equipment, operating equipment safely, providing quality customer service, attending training, cross-training, and ensuring error-free and damage-free results.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of millwork installation/service experience required.
  • Ability to read and use a measuring tape and other required tools for complete installation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills and the ability to provide and/or follow detailed instructions.
  • Excellent teamwork & customer relationships.
  • Demonstration of leadership (Mentor new associates, Willingness to train others, Safety committee engagement, Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects).

Responsibilities

  • Work with other installers to install millwork products as assigned and trained.
  • Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
  • Track time and materials as required for each installation project.
  • Maintain all equipment in good order and report any malfunctions to field supervisor.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Attend all training to learn new technology of building materials and installation methods as required by location management.
  • Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.
  • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
  • Comply with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by location Management.
  • Responsible for supervising a team of 8+ associates, including hiring and termination decisions, setting goals (directly or relaying from management), communicating expectations, and providing performance feedback.
  • Responsible for budgeting and financial oversight, which may include aspects of P&L accountability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Adheres to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
