About The Position

The Milling Operator is responsible for operating department mills and producing batches in the Milling Plant. This includes using KD Dyno Mills, ECM Dyno Mills, Netzsch Turbo Mills, bulk systems, scales/load cells, mixers, drum dumpers, and other required equipment. The role may also support activities in other Operations areas, including the Small Paint Plant, Large Paint Plant, Waterbase, and Shading.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must pass a math test administered prior to the interview
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear
  • Frequently required to reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Must be clean-shaven (mustache below upper lip allowed) for respirator use

Responsibilities

  • Follow company Standard Operating Procedures, safety policies, batch tickets, and process sheets
  • Operate and clean milling and batch equipment (mills, scales/load cells, mixers, bulk loading systems, pumps, filling machines, etc.)
  • Monitor process parameters (mills, tanks, and related equipment)
  • Fill finished goods into proper containers per customer specifications and create labels
  • Identify off-quality products and initiate corrective actions per company procedures
  • Use company IT systems (SAP, Access, Microsoft Office) to complete orders
  • Operate forklift to move materials and transport waste to the 90-day storage area
  • Maintain housekeeping in lab and production areas; maintain testing equipment
  • Support operations outside of Milling as required
