About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate Machines: Loads starting material into machine and unloads machined part from machine Deburrs Parts as necessary for Inspection and Safety Performs Daily Housekeeping around machine and Daily Maintenance checks Adjusts tool offsets and other machine offsets such as fixture offsets, cutter comp, etc. Set-Up Jobs: For non-complex machining operations, installs and aligns holding fixtures and accessories on machines per green folder instructions. Aligns and secures cutting tools into tool holders and then installs tool assemblies on machines per tool sheet. Retrieves CNC program, ensures revision is correct, and downloads to machine. Establishes the machining offsets (G54, etc.). Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts set-up as required to make part within specification. Document results and get first-piece stamp for operation. Multitasking machine set-up experience a plus. Tooling: Recognizes that tool wear has occurred Adjusts tool offsets as necessary Identifies and builds tooling according to the tool sheet. Establishes tool heights. Identifies correct tool versus the tool sheet and changes the tool in the machine CNC Program: Reads CNC program line-by-line to follow tools paths Manual Inspection: Uses standard hand tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and hard gages to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications Uses any specialty inspection device (ex: vision system) required in each machining cell Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM): Loads part onto CMM and operates CMM to ensure that parts were fabricated within specifications Quality System & Documentation: Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and quality plans to understand inspection requirements Fills out Quality System paperwork and enters data into computer as necessary Planning & Scheduling: Operates more than 1 machine at the same time, as required Training: Trains other employees on the basics of operating equipment on which employee is fully competent Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Notifies more senior machining employees, engineers, or supervisors when problems arise. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present numerical data effectively and write routine correspondence
Ability to speak effectively to communicate with other employees of organization.
Ability to apply concepts such as decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
Ability to interpret bar and line graphs.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to identify problems in a timely manner and resolve or notify more senior employee
Ability to work well in group situations.
Possess Basic Computer skills.
The employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Depth perception.
the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Nice To Haves

Vocational Technical High School or Community College Advanced Manufacturing Certificate graduate preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Multitasking machine set-up experience a plus.
