Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Director to lead and manage complex programs within our Military Development organization. The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of program across the entire life cycle of the program, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholders. This position may require occasional travel to customer sites, supplier facilities, and other Pratt & Whitney locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field with 14+ years of experience in program management, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry OR
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage program budgets.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a complex program, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Utilize RLPM to optimize program performance
  • Develop and maintain program plans, including schedules, budgets, risk management strategies, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive program performance by monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with RTX lifecycle program management (RLPM) and Checkpoint Gated Process requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and other functions to resolve issues and achieve program goals.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence within the program team.
  • Mentor and develop program team members, promoting professional growth and high performance.
