About The Position

The milieu therapist ensures a therapeutic environment conducive to the mental and emotional healing of persons served. This position will work within the Child/Adolescent Partial Hospital program. Will promote wellness and recovery through structured interactions and activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in human services and 1 year of direct care experience.
• ACT 33/34/73 Clearances required.
• Pre- Employment Drug Screen.
• Child Protective Services Law training (CPSL)

Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Support: Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, helping them navigate their feelings and behaviors in a safe environment.
• Group Facilitation: Plan and facilitate therapeutic groups and activities designed to improve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, and personal growth.
• Observation and Assessment: Monitor patients’ behaviors, interactions, and progress; document observations and report significant changes or concerns to the treatment team.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to behavioral crises, implementing de-escalation techniques and ensuring the safety of all patients and staff.
• Collaboration: Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Milieu Management: Maintain a supportive and therapeutic environment by promoting positive interactions and maintaining structure within the milieu.
