About The Position

The Mechanic supports Flywheel Energy’s compression operations by performing inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on natural gas compressor packages. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, mechanical reliability, and continuous learning while working independently and as part of a field team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Willingness to follow instruction and proactively seek assistance when addressing mechanical issues
• Ability and desire to learn basic troubleshooting techniques across a variety of compressor units
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and within compressor buildings with high ambient temperatures
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Caterpillar CG137, G3516, and G3606 engines preferred (or closely related equipment)
• Knowledge, skill level, and confidence to independently manage assigned units and respond to after‑hours callouts

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and comprehensive inspections of compressor units to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Safely shut down compressor packages, evacuate system pressure, and apply lockout/tagout devices in accordance with company procedures
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of compressor packages following established maintenance guidelines
• Diagnose mechanical and operational issues, identify defects, and recommend effective repair solutions
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of safety rules, practices, and job‑specific procedures
• Consistently demonstrate adherence to all applicable safety policies and regulatory requirements
