About The Position

As the Middle School Music Teacher, you will design and deliver high-quality music instruction for scholars in grades 5–7. You will build foundational music skills, rhythm, and creative expression while maintaining a structured, joyful classroom culture. This role supports the school’s enrichment program and contributes to a well-rounded scholar experience through music education.

This is a part-time, hourly position serving scholars two days per week (Monday and Friday).

As the Middle School Music Teacher, you will:
Plan and teach engaging music lessons aligned to grade-level standards and school expectations
Build scholar skill in rhythm, vocal performance, music literacy, and/or instrumental basics
Establish clear routines, procedures, and transitions for a structured classroom environment
Create a safe, inclusive space that promotes confidence, participation, and joy in music
Assess scholar progress and provide clear, actionable feedback
Prepare scholars for performances, showcases, or school events as requested
Collaborate with school leaders and staff to align programming with school culture and events
Maintain organization and care of music materials and equipment
Communicate professionally with staff and families as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field preferred
• Experience teaching or leading music with upper elementary or middle school scholars (grades 5–7 preferred)
• Strong classroom management and ability to lead group-based instruction
• Knowledge of foundational music concepts (rhythm, pitch, performance, etc.)
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Commitment to high expectations and positive scholar culture
