About The Position

Trevor Day School is seeking a part-time Middle School Spanish Teacher for fall 2026. Candidates should be prepared to teach 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade classes. They should have a strong desire to work with a diverse student body and faculty in an open and collaborative environment. All Trevor teachers participate actively in the daily life of the school. World language classes at Trevor are activity-based and use both digital and print materials. All four modalities of language (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) are incorporated into instruction. Various methods are used to assess student learning and provide effective feedback. As much as possible, classes are taught in an immersion style. The annual salary range for this 0.6 FTE position is $36,000–$63,000, as per the school’s salary scale. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in teaching Spanish
  • Native-level fluency is preferred
  • Adept at designing and delivering lessons that challenge and inspire students
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development
  • Comfort with differentiating instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance classroom learning
  • Familiarity with AI as a teaching and learning tool
  • Competence in designing authentic assessments that encourage original student voice and ensure academic integrity
