Academies of Math and Science Middle School Math Teacher (2026-2027 School Year) Location: 45450 West Glendale Avenue Glendale, AZ 85301 Start Date: 7-20-2026 Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site Compensation Range: $48,331 – $54,571 (DOE) Position Overview Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. Requirements
- Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math or a related field OR Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area
- Additionally, candidates must:
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Demonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
- Show strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction
- Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and interventions.
- Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on scientific exploration.
- Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to strengthen instructional practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the campus.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.
