River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced certified librarian to join our team beginning August 2026. The person in this position will contribute to the library’s core mission of creating a vibrant school reading culture, with a primary focus on teaching and special programs. The successful candidate will have extensive library teaching experience, a track record of collaborating effectively with teachers, and a student-centered approach. S/he must have an in-depth knowledge of current children’s literature; an ability to curate a diverse, current, and relevant literature collection; and an awareness of trends in school librarianship and current educational research. Also essential are a love of children and a forward-thinking mindset. This position will teach students in grades 4 – 8 and will be part of a team of three certified librarians serving 920 students from age three to eighth grade. This position reports to the Head of Middle School. All faculty including our librarians are supported by an experienced divisional team devoted to developing both students and faculty. The team will include instructional coaches, learning specialists, a counselor, a Dean of Students, an Assistant Division Head, a Division Head, and the Associate Head of School for Academics.
