About The Position

In-person academic tutors will support students in grades 6–8 by “pushing into” ELA classrooms. The goal of this role is to enhance learning opportunities and reduce the student-to-educator ratio during instruction.

Requirements

• Passion for Learning: Dedicated to supporting academic and personal success, especially for underserved students.
• Strong Academics: Degree-seeking student or graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Education or a relevant field.
• Committed and Flexible: Available to work 10-35 hours per week at an assigned school (or virtual program) and participate in monthly training.
• Collaborative Spirit: Ready to work alongside teachers, school leaders, and fellow tutors to maximize student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects like Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Regents exam prep.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging, personalized learning strategies that help students thrive academically and personally.
