Job Summary: San Francisco Friends School seeks a Middle School Science teacher who is compelled by the school’s mission and committed to progressive, integrated Science education. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of project-based learning, engineering, and scientific principles, along with a commitment to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in a diverse learning community. Science at Friends is an inquiry-based, conceptual program where students grapple with problems and make meaning for themselves. We strive to build students' capacity to think critically and see the world through the lens of a scientist. This includes being able to work collaboratively, and express themselves through written, visual and oral communication, supporting their ideas with observations and evidence. Teachers are engaged in regular collaboration, curriculum development, and pedagogical reflection.
