JDE: 4.08 General Education Classroom Teacher Position Summary The position of General Education Classroom Teacher was established for the purpose of providing support for developing students' success in academics, interpersonal skills, developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines: collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in position related area

Responsibilities

  • Designs engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Implements best practices and instructional resources to enhance student learning in alignment with state and district standards.
  • Works with all stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues, administration) to establish leadership, positive relationships, and a culture of high expectations.
  • Develops and guides learning in partnership with students, incorporating classroom missions, learning goals, and recognition strategies.
  • Evaluates individual and class performance using assessment data to adjust instruction for continuous improvement.
  • Manages classroom structure, procedures, and behavioral expectations to create a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment.
  • Models professional and ethical behavior in alignment with district and state standards.
  • Maintains documentation and required data to support student progress and compliance.
  • Actively participates in meetings and professional development to stay informed and improve instructional practices.
  • Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to all employees, fostering a welcoming and approachable atmosphere.
