About The Position

Westminster Schools of Augusta The mission of Westminster Schools of Augusta is to glorify God by providing an excellent education that equips students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ. Westminster Schools of Augusta seeks an experienced, talented, energetic Middle School Mathematics teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in math and should be able to teach math courses up to Geometry and Algebra II. An ideal candidate would also be able to fill other openings such as the coaching positions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
Ability to work in a collegial environment

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree
Five to seven years teaching experience
Interest in supporting co-curricular activities (clubs, athletics, advisory)
Knowledge and/or experience working in an independent school environment
Understanding of the importance of integrating faith and learning

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with administration and math department colleagues in order to strengthen student performance and support.
Consistently communicate and partner with parents in the shared desire of student growth and success.
Possess strong organizational skills and insights on how to teach a class with wide-ranging mathematical abilities.
Use technology in the classroom as an instructional tool.
Demonstrate a commitment to instructional excellence. Acknowledge, appreciate, and adjust to the various ways that students learn. Use a variety of instructional techniques to promote critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and innovation. Set high academic standards and expectations for students and challenge them to do their very best.
Maintain high standards of professional conduct, support of the Christian mission of the school, and comfort in an independent school setting.
Pursue professional growth and development.
Participate in the broader ministry of Westminster through co-curricular activities (math team, athletics, or school club).
Invest in the lives of students through advisory and other mentorship opportunities.
