The Mid-Market / Large Group Benefits Consultant manages and strengthens client relationships while delivering strategic guidance and solutions for employer-sponsored Health and Welfare benefit programs. This role primarily supports mid-size and large group clients (50500 employees) and is accountable for client satisfaction, retention, and profitability within an assigned book of business. This is a full-time hybrid position supporting our office located at 325 Chestnut Street Suite 1000, Philadelphia, PA.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in HR, Risk Management/Insurance, Health Policy, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of health benefits experience
  • Strong knowledge of fully insured and self-funded plans, including funding strategies, carrier/TPA evaluation, claims analysis, stop-loss, and compliance (ACA, HIPAA, Section 125)
  • Active Life & Health license
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Comfortable with business technology and reporting tools

  • Professional designations (REBC, GBA, CEBS) preferred or in progress

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic partner and trusted advisor for assigned clients
  • Develop a deep understanding of each clients business objectives, workforce strategy, and benefits philosophy
  • Design and recommend competitive, cost-effective Health and Welfare benefit solutions
  • Lead and manage the annual renewal process, including plan analysis, vendor evaluation, and negotiations
  • Provide ongoing consultative support, including claims/funding updates, compliance guidance, and emerging trends
  • Develop long-term benefits strategies for larger clients (100+ employees)
  • Organize and lead regular client meetings and presentations
  • Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships and expand services
  • Collaborate with underwriting, account management, and client service teams to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Support new business efforts and cross-selling initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation and updates within CRM and internal systems
