About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Mid-Level Network Designer to join the team in Tukwila, WA or Kent, WA. The Network Designer will assist in planning and assessing program requirements and will integrate activities of other employees to accomplish program objectives. You will also be responsible for multiple programs in the Washington area.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
  • 3+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems, network monitoring systems, and AAA/RADIUS/TACACS+
  • Experience with Encryptors
  • Experience with DNS/DHCP/IPAM

  • Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 certification (Security+ preferred)
  • CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification

Responsibilities

  • Manages the scope of work for program activities and interaction with connected sites and other programs
  • Works on project management for multiple activities and prioritization as necessary
  • Identifies resources needed for successful accomplishment
  • Works on Network Design, equipment procurement, equipment configuration and installation, cable and wire design and implementation, network break-fix, security plan integration, equipment decommission and surplus, capital/expense planning to ensure that the programs have a secure communications network to perform program development and execution in support of program customer
  • Works with hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice and other non-standard system integration
  • Supports security activities such as United States (US) government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security Plans
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders and peers
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team
  • Works to effectively triage and de-escalate issues with impacted parties
  • Develops and executes project and process plans and implements policies and procedures
