About The Position

Join Us as a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator Leidos is looking for a talented Microsoft SQL Database Administrator to join our team at the National Maritime Intelligence Center in Suitland, MD. Primary Responsibilities: Design, manage, and optimize advanced Microsoft SQL database systems. Assist in diagnosis and resolution of complex database issues with precision. Implement and maintain security policies, conduct vulnerability analyses, and develop system documentation. Partner with network, system, and database administrators to achieve mission‑critical objectives. Keep systems secure and current through patches, upgrades, and proactive maintenance. Monitor performance, troubleshoot problems, and enhance reliability to ensure maximum availability. Support re‑accreditation efforts, including DISA STIG reviews, system upgrades, and vulnerability remediation. Communicate effectively across diverse teams, bridging technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years. Equivalent training, certifications, or hands‑on experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience SQL Database Administration (SQL 2012 or newer) and Microsoft Server environments (2012 or newer).
  • Experience monitoring and tuning, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customers and colleagues.

  • Preferred familiarity with Azure Cloud concepts
