About The Position

GDIT has an opening for a Microsoft 365 System Administrator position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Falls Church, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services. The GECOS program supports the ARNG Enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: • Serves as single point of contact to provide Defense Enterprise Provisioning Online (DEPO) support and oversight. • Coordinate, manage, provision, and troubleshoots Microsoft 365 licensing in the Army 365 Tenant utilizing DEPO. • Manages A365 licensing and user profiles. • Establishes accounts and applies, manages, and reports on licenses and license usage. • Serves as the single point of contact for all receiving, logging, classifying, prioritizing, tracking, resolving, and reporting of incidents, problems, and service requests for all supported customers of AESD-NG worldwide for NIPR, SIPR, SECRET//REL, and other enterprise services located at Post, Camps, and Stations (P/C/S). • Responsible for coordinating support to the ARNG G6 elements in the 50 states, three territories, and the District of Columbia, NGB NCR NEC, and associated components and environments. • Processes NIPR, SIPR, and other Defense Enterprise Provisioning Online requests via AESMP, group mailboxes, decommissioning mailboxes, and auditing of monthly utilization and billing. Supervises other Systems Administrators, as necessary. • Support enterprise IT modernization efforts by identifying opportunities for improvement in system design, integration, and documentation practices. • Conduct and support technical exchange meetings with stakeholders for product creation and delivery. • Maintain current and up-to-date knowledge of evolving technologies, tools, and industry standards relevant to network architecture, cybersecurity, and data modeling. • Create, develop, and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures related to architecture design and modeling practices. • Work independently to manage assigned tasks, projects, deliverables to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organization guidelines. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT preferred. High School Diploma; AA/AS/BA/BS preferred or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Experience: 5-8 years of related experience to DEPO or Microsoft 365 licensing, and/or IT Operations environment. Technical Skills: • Experience using ITSM tools (e.g., AESMP/ServiceNow) for ticket management and workflow tracking within an ITIL framework. • Strong understanding of network and systems architecture principles and IT environments. • Familiarity with SharePoint, Azure/Entra ID, and other Microsoft technologies. Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) prior to start. Must obtain a computing environment certification (e.g., ITIL v4 Foundations) within six months of hire. When 8140 requirements are implemented on program/contract, employees will need to conform to 8140 certification standards.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Active SECRET security clearance required and must be maintained.

  • Experience using ITSM tools (e.g., AESMP/ServiceNow) for ticket management and workflow tracking within an ITIL framework.
  • Strong understanding of network and systems architecture principles and IT environments.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Azure/Entra ID, and other Microsoft technologies.
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) prior to start.
  • Must obtain a computing environment certification (e.g., ITIL v4 Foundations) within six months of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
