About The Position

Responsibilities and Qualifications: As a QC technician, your responsibilities will be to follow established policies and procedures. The position is responsible for performing routine inspections on product during manufacturing process, record and report test results for product consistency, quality and food safety. Assist with conducting audits of procduction processes and products to help ensure company quality standards. help maintain accurate logs of testing results and assist in the preparation of quality control reports and assist in identifying and resolving quality control issues. No experience necessary and Food Science students are encouraged to apply. Job functions include basic microbiological quality and general lab work, including plating (Petri-film), media preparation, environmental sample collection, Lab sanitation, enrichments, autoclaving and dish washing. The position will also assist in specialized testing, including, PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP and ELISA as needed. Excuting and maintaining laboratory quality control is critical of the position. Applicants must be familar and proficient with aseptic technique. Candidates must also be motivated. detail-oriented, mechanically and technically inclined, independant and have ability to multi-task. Must have good communication skills. Physical Requirments: Hand Movement, Sitting, Reading, Lifting 30 lbs. or more, Twisting/Turning, Writing, Pushing/Pulling, Hand/Eye Coordination, Bending, Standing, Climbing Biohazards: Involves working with potential class II agents. Workers are trained on aseptic technique, Good Laboratory Practices and handling and treating potentially biohazardous materials This position pays $18.54 per hour.
