At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in medical devices such as catheters and subcomponents for other Medtronic facilities. The Machine operator’s role is responsible for the day-to-day production of components used in our various medical devices. You will be a key member of a manufacturing team that is dedicated to safety, quality, continuous improvement and achieving production goals. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Provides support in manufacturing and/or production operations including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. May set up and operate automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines, with higher levels recommending and/or making adjustments to methods and processes. Machine Operator jobs require demonstrated technical competency through knowledge in both operating and maintaining equipment. Scope specific to molding, braiding, coiling/winding, and independent machine operation; extrusion operations out of scope.

Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment, contributing to proper materials handling and keeping the production schedule.
  • Established and productive individual contributor
  • Works under moderate supervision; with general supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions for new activities
  • Knows operating equipment and established operational procedures
  • Works to deliver on day-to-day objectives with direct impact on achievement of production-related results for the job area, including moderate scheduling or customer satisfaction implications
  • Work consists of tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice possible
  • Solves problems that are routine and typically exist in current production work processes and systems
  • May be required to highlight areas of concerns / problems in own job area
  • Communicates typically with internal contacts within and outside of immediate team
  • Obtains and provides production-related information requiring some explanation or interpretation
  • May provide guidance and assistance to new or entry level employees
  • Active line trainer
  • Requires full job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education
  • Basic Machine Operations Capability: Capable of machine setup and breakdown, ability to diagnose and replace common machine parts, performs in process inspections of their work
  • Basic preventive maintenance capability for mechanical parts
