About The Position

As a Class “A” Equipment Repair Technician your responsibilities include but are not limited to diagnostics, adjustments and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components of Material Handling Equipment such as Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, Layer pickers etc. within our facility. You will be responsible for ensuring all repairs are documented and aligned with OSHA – state and federal policies as well as company policies to drive a safe working environment and culture.

Requirements

  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature-controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team-based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
  • Own and Maintain up-to-date tools of the trade

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of technical experience – Automotive or Industrial Equipment
  • MHE experience (Electric pallet jacks such as center riders or long forks; forklifts)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the repair of MHE fleets which includes monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing and preventative maintenance
  • Use material handling equipment (center riders, long-forks, forklifts etc.) in a safe manner moving MHE to and from the maintenance shop for repairs
  • Performing safety inspections in accordance with OSHA and company policies on all equipment prior to being released back to the floor for use
  • Conducting preventative maintenance following manufacturing guidelines and specifications within the established time frames – including oil changes, filter changes, calibrations, belt changes, adjustments, lubrications & fluids (hydraulic etc.) changes
  • Maintaining quality standards of product throughout shift – working in a damage-free manner
  • Repair knowledge of drive units, transmissions, braking systems, internal combustion motors, reach mechanisms, steering and suspension systems
  • Read and understand equipment schematics, and operating and maintenance manuals to complete preventative, general and complex repairs for all equipment being overseen
  • Clear and concise reporting of inspections, preventative maintenance, and evaluations to management
  • Logging time and materials utilizing CMMS on a daily basis – repairs, preventative maintenance etc.
  • Repair knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems both AC & DC; PLC/Low Voltage Control Systems
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouse
  • Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
