FTE: 1.0, Shift: Days, Schedule: EX Position Summary The System Operation manager runs the day-to-day operations of the patient safety department and provides operational support for Patient Safety Program Managers. Coordinates work and analysis at the system level, and shares and disseminates findings. Becomes expert in the event management system, produces reports and dashboards for broadwise and further analysis. Reports to the System Director for Patient Safety and Care Integration and is a member of the Quality Management Department’s leadership team, ensuring collaboration and alignment across all aspects of Quality and Safety throughout the organization. Key Relationships: Collaborates with the MHS Quality Leadership Team, IBU Quality Directors/Patient Safety Officers, and local leaders to align system and facility safety priorities. These partnerships typically include Risk Managers, Patient Advocates, Accreditation Managers, Infection Preventionists, and Medication Safety Pharmacists but may expand to meet programmatic or patient needs. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, pharmacy, medicine or health related field
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in health-related field, strongly recommended
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS) or Registered and licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington or Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a registered respiratory therapist (RRT)
  • Patient Safety or Quality certification desired, such as CPPS or CPHQ
  • Training and demonstrated use of PI tools
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical management or quality/safety program management experience in a hospital or health care setting
  • Minimum three (3) years of managerial or supervisory experience
