About The Position

The area Quality Manager leads the area Quality Management activities. The role reports directly to the Director, Quality and functionally reports to the Vice President, Area Operations. The area Quality Manager also interface with the area Welding & QA Managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Engineering or Quality discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 Years relevant Experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with other departments in a tactful and effective manner.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical, problem solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems Standards when applicable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge & experience in Quality Management in order to meet project requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 Quality Management System Requirements.
  • Conducting internal quality audits, reporting and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Root Cause Analysis using company applications.
  • Ability to review Project Quality Plans and procedures in line with the Customer requirements, Project Execution Strategy and the Project Estimating Basis.
  • Interface with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, third parties, JV partners on issues related to quality.
  • Reviewing Quality Manuals, documents, and implementation procedures to verify compliance with customer requirements, industry codes and standards, local regulations.
  • Interfacing with Area Operations Management to align area improvement initiatives with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Quality programs as an instrument of continual improvement in alignment with corporate objectives & targets that improves Organizational performance and effectiveness.
  • Establish Area improvement initiatives for all disciplines across the region that drives business performance.
  • Ensure Quality certifications such as ASME and ISO9001 as applicable are current.
  • Ensure Quality support for pre-contract in the area of operations for estimating and other technical deliverables as requested by Sales and Estimating.
  • Monitor implementation and compliance with CB&I Quality Management System through regional audits.
  • Oversee the KPI and Performance Quality process, trend analysis on regional level and initiate ground level documentation and understanding for benchmarking and lessons learned within the operating units. Analyze trends of all measurement data to assist in setting targets, future planning and in establishing action plans for improvement and effective follow up to verify compliance.
  • Obtain and maintain quality certifications for the region.
  • Assist Business Development with Quality Management support during pre-contract.
  • Develop and implement area specific procedures to address regional specific requirements.
  • Provide training on Quality Management Systems and Tools and provide continuous support for effective implementation.
  • Promote closer interfaces and awareness of Project Quality Plans and Procedures with the respective functional Quality personnel in liaison with Project Quality Teams
  • Review customer feedbacks and initiate corrective actions to improve area of concerns.
  • Develop and implement effective problem solving techniques that prevents recurrence of defects.
  • Attend operations meetings and provide input to relevant topics and update Quality status to the Project and Functional Management representatives.
  • Conduct annual reviews of Quality Management System effectiveness with operations and provide inputs to Global Quality.
  • Acts as the Project Quality Manager for small projects in the CBI Services Area of Operations.
  • The Project Quality Manager (PQM) will be responsible for defining and developing strategies and plans to ensure compliance with established Codes, Standards, Regulations, Policies, Procedures and Contractual Requirements.
  • Understand contract requirements
  • Understand Sub-contract agreement requirements
  • Understand local regulatory requirements related to Quality
  • Prepare and maintain the Project Quality Plan
  • Advise Project Team on all QA/QC issues
  • Monitor, manage and coordinate Procedure Program Implementation – including New Procedure Generation, revisions and compliance
  • Coordinate with Engineering in development of “QA and QC Plan Details” or “Inspection and Test Plans” (ITPs) as applicable
  • Ensure NCR/CAR logs are developed and maintained.
  • Monitor programmatic compliance to project quality objectives, applicable codes, standards, policies, procedures and specific contract requirements
  • Coordinate QA audits of project activities according to project audit program
