About The Position

Manage all support processes required for the ongoing functionality of Department 005 Supplier Quality. Includes, but is not limited to: Databaseadministration; IT-related support; data collection, analysis, metrics, and reporting; Supplier audit scheduling; budget management; SIQ management; QlnfoRecord processing; Supplier Scorecards; and facility-related support. Plans, organizes, directs and reports on all supplier quality-related activities such as raw materials, packaging materials, good manufacturing practices(GMP) service providers, as well as contract manufacturers, and/or contract manufacturing and laboratories to assure fulfillment of contract/purchaseorder requirements. Translates engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements. Assures that customer quality-imposed technical requirements areadhered to by supplier and that a quality system is maintained. Conducts programs designed to improve supplier performance, productivity, and processvalidation. Prepares, maintains and reviews procurement quality assurance procedures to assure compliance with customer and/or governmentrequirements. Reviews and analyzes corrective action reports and purchase orders in an effort to reduce and eliminate defects. Monitors quality controlactivities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and maintains feedback loops. May administer a certified supplier program or relatedprograms in receiving inspection. May also audit third party manufacturers, due diligence and vendor selection process. May perform deviationinvestigations into quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master?s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing/supervising Quality-related processes.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management and Material Management SAP transactions.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced experience in data analysis using MS-Excel.
  • Experience in supporting/performing internal and external audits of suppliers providing material to Newport News Shipbuilding
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain Procurement, including Part Number and Purchase Order requirements and the Objective .Quality Evidence (OQE)provided by suppliers.
