The Seed Treatment Account Manager is responsible for the account management, operations, and overall success of key customers within Valent USA’s Seed Treatment business. The role reports to the Associate Director, Asset Management in the marketing department. Within this role, the selected individual will spend approximately 80% of the time supporting Valent’s largest national upstream customer in the Seed Treatment segment and the balance of time to provide operational support to other Seed Treatment customers across various crops. The Seed Treatment Account Manager interacts frequently with these key customers, while collaborating with internal Valent departments to produce proactive solutions and ensure customer success. This role requires strong customer-orientation, operational efficiency, and project management skills.

Requirements

  • Education-BS in Business or Agriculture oriented degree, Masters preferred
  • Experience- 5+ years of Agriculture sales, account management, or marketing experience
  • Industry Knowledge- Seed Treatment industry experience preferred
  • Acceptable DMV report
  • Business planning and financial acumen
  • Problem solving, forecasting, persuasion, and negotiation with all stakeholders
  • Able to show leadership while contributing to a larger team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong computational skills
  • Approximately 40-60 % domestic travel by car or air

Responsibilities

  • Successfully support and grow strategic Seed Treatment customer accounts and manage a variety of account operations to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Lead and oversee a variety of account management activities including forecasting, contract management, customer operations, planning, and more
  • Develop customer forecasts using demand plans, assumptions, and market variables with successful implementation across Internal Business Planning (IBP) processes
  • Conduct business planning meetings with Seed Treatment customers to ensure alignment of needs, challenges, opportunities, and strategies
  • Successfully collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Asset Teams, Regulatory, Sales and Product Development to effectively meet customers’ needs and ensure alignment of key-account activities
  • Effectively act as the ‘voice-of-the-customer’ by capturing, analyzing, communicating, and resolving customer feedback and challenges
  • Conduct analysis of various data sources (e.g. sales data, market reports) with effective utilization to resolve customer’s needs and support opportunities
  • Engage and represent the Company at key industry trade groups such as ASTA and IPSA
  • Ensure operational excellence to both lead and drive efficiencies across critical internal processes focused on customer success
