Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien and Nutrien Ag Solutions.  In this people leader role, you will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of custom blending and repackaging chemical bulk facility to drive site profitability while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality customer service. Highly accountable for working collaboratively to bring Nutrien’s Culture of Care to life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required; equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in blending or packaging operations, including at least 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and production management technology systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop operational activities to effectively manage the flow of goods.
  • Conceptual understanding of blending and packaging optimization, bulk chemical safety, and machinery maintenance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best practices in bulk repackaging processes for distribution to consumers (1–2 gallon package sizes).
  • Thorough knowledge of chemical blending standards for the agriculture industry.
  • Proficiency in OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local requirements for bulk storage facilities.
  • Ability to implement tactics for managing inventory in response to changing business operations.
  • Proven problem-solving methodologies to manage unforeseen circumstances.
  • Skilled in leading a workforce through periods of peak productivity and gradual declines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail impacting efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing activities and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provide effective leadership to employees by maximizing performance and addressing employee ideas and concerns.
  • Continually work to prevent workplace accidents and support a culture where everyone goes home safe every day.
  • Balanced ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately to customers, employees, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to role model professional conduct while working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with SAP software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with site team members, timely troubleshoot operational issues with focus on plant up time.
  • Effectively manage inventory to ensure plant is sufficiently equipped with materials.
  • Monitor quality control activities, taking appropriate action as needed to meet standards and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate equipment repair, preventative maintenance activities, and respond to equipment failures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures to facilitate consistent approaches to work, maximizing effectiveness.
  • Provide ongoing employee coaching to foster continuous learning and professional skill development.
  • Communicate with clarity, ensuring customers receive high levels of service and employees understand performance expectations.
  • Translate operational requirements into successful daily plans and optimized workforce schedules.
  • Enthusiastically demonstrate a commitment to embracing change and driving innovation.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Safety, Health, & Environment, Human Resources, and Nutrien colleagues to leverage organizational resources and expertise.
  • Lead efforts to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Actively contribute to business plan development, budget forecast, and production targets.
