About The Position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, optimizing, and executing end-to-end Supply Chain and Logistics activities and leading a team of Logistics Coordinators who support CB&I Storage Tank Solutions, LLC’s projects. The Logistics team is responsible for the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and fabricated components to project sites and fabrication shops primarily in the Western Hemisphere (but sometimes globally), while maintaining strict compliance with project schedules, safety requirements, regulatory constraints, and quality standards .Operating in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment, the Logistics Manager works closely with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, and external vendors to maintain a high‑performing, resilient supply chain that supports major capital project execution. This Logistics Manager is responsible for making decisions that may impact projects, the organization, employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, and compliance programs. The role requires strategic thinking and proactive decision-making, informed by thorough analysis of relevant data, consideration of alternative approaches, available resources, operational constraints, and alignment with company values. The Logistics Manager directly reports to the SCM Management and routinely interfaces with Internal Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Construction Management, OR Management degree in Logistics Management . International Trade / Import Export OR industry equivalent certifications preferred.
  • 10-12 years practice of regulatory compliance with import/export regulations related to international oil & gas industry and/or construction industry preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS 2020).
  • Advanced proficiency in domestic freight management.
  • Experienced in managing heavy‑haul, oversized loads, chartering, and international project cargo
  • Advanced understanding of U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFACE, etc.)
  • Experience working with international customs and export control laws highly preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%, domestically and internationally, as required

  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, field operations, and project execution models preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading, training, and developing the current logistics team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Responsible for complying with and training l internal and external stakeholders on relevant international regulations.
  • Provides advice and guidance to senior leadership and company personnel on import and export regulations for the countries in which CB&I Storage Tank Solutions, LLC operates.
  • Support internal and external audit commitments including assessments, requests for information, process enhancements, and corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance regarding content origin for all preferential treatment, domestic content, and Free Trade Agreement programs and regularly review and validate HTS classifications, duty drawback opportunities, and trade program eligibility.
  • Provide experienced management of global trade compliance that supports global business objectives and satisfies international legal requirements both imports and exports.
  • Act as the primary internal interface for regulatory changes that affect trade compliance. Set appropriate company import/export policies. Disseminate this information to appropriate functions within the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics Key Performance Indicators such as delivery times and transportation costs.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive logistics plans for CB&I projects, including transportation routing, shipping requirements, equipment mobilization, and delivery sequencing.
  • Ensure logistics activities align with construction schedules, engineering need‑dates, and fabrication timelines.
  • Identify and forecast problems, evaluate options, and implement appropriate actions that are in the best interest of the company and project.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments including domestic trucking, ocean freight, air freight, rail, and specialized oversized and heavy‑lift transports .
  • Coordinate delivery of critical path materials, long‑lead equipment, bulk commodities, and fabricated components to job sites across the Western Hemisphere (and the globe at times), and proactively mitigate delays that could impact the project’s critical path.
  • Work with warehouse, fabrication shop, and jobsite teams to ensure safe receipt, inspection, and staging of materials.
  • Management and oversight of 3rd party logistics providers.
  • Establish strong relationships with freight forwarders, 3PLs, heavy‑haul carriers, and port authorities.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements tailored to CB&I ‘s project execution model and needs.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure materials are packaged correctly, certified, protected, and compliant with company procedure / site requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations including:
  • DOT, OSHA, EPA, and port authority rules
  • Export/import requirements (ITAR, EAR, and customs documentation)
  • Handling and transport of cryogenic equipment, structural steel, valves, pipe spools, electrical components, and other critical materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments including BOLs, packing lists, MSDS/SDS, custom processes, and inspection reports.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Construction Superintendents, Expeditors, and Site Logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to support field execution.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks impacting schedule.
  • Provide logistics updates during project meetings and maintain communication with site personnel on delivery status, issues, and priorities.
  • Monitor logistics spend and identify cost‑saving opportunities through consolidated loads, optimized routing, and strategic carrier selection.
  • Minimize demurrage, detention, premium freight, and idle‑equipment costs.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce schedule risk, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
