Job Summary: End-to-End Orchestration: Manage multi-modal movement (Ocean, Air, Ground) between Lunar partners, contract manufacturers, and customers. Operational Excellence: Evaluate and streamline logistics business practices; eliminate non-value-added activities and maintain rigorous process documentation. Performance Metrics: Develop and track KPIs to assess carrier performance, optimize inventory investment, and achieve the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Strategic Sourcing: Lead the identification, vetting, and down-selection of carriers and brokers in collaboration with senior management. Hazmat Management: Act as the subject matter expert for Class 9 Hazmat transportation and compliance. Trade Compliance & Strategy Regulatory Ownership: Define and maintain Import/Export process flows, ensuring 100% compliance with state, federal, and international regulations. Classification & Documentation: Determine HTS and ECCN codes for all raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods. Fiscal Optimization: Analyze production structures to minimize tariff/duty impact; manage duty drawback initiatives and oversee bonded/non-bonded cross-border flows. Post-Approval Governance: Oversee recordkeeping, reporting requirements, and international shipping authorizations. Fulfillment & Distribution Fulfillment Strategy: Define the long-term roadmap for Lunar’s distribution needs and implement 3PL onboarding programs. Contract Management: Negotiate contracts with transport providers, enforce deadlines, and ensure strict adherence to INCOTERMS. Team Leadership: Onboard and train internal shipping personnel and external partners (3PLs, Customs Brokers) on Lunar’s internal policies. Partner Relationship Management Vendor Governance: Manage relationships with 3PLs and freight forwarders through regular QBRs, root-cause analysis, and KPI monitoring. Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site audits of warehouses and partner facilities to ensure processes align with "Lunar Standards."

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years in transportation and trade compliance, ideally within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep mastery of HTS/ECCN classifications, the Commerce Control List (CCL), and Hazmat regulations.
  • Systems: Proficiency in ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms (and the Google Suite).
  • Project Management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects that bridge the gap between supply chain, finance, and engineering.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex compliance requirements for stakeholders at all levels.

  • Licensing: Customs Broker License (LCB) is strongly preferred.
