About The Position
This position will be responsible for managing the Power Tech section of E63 for RCOH contracts. Knowledge of Nimitz Class Carrier Propulsion Power is preferred, but not mandatory. Qualified candidates should be energetic and open to new ideas to enhance overhaul processes as the shipyard seeks opportunities to grow the digital shipbuilding environment. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of a staff of Engineers and Designers. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Program Manager Responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design
- Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
