About The Position

With more than 11,000 employees, HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to the economic growth of Alabama. For nearly 85 years, we’ve designed, built and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. The largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, we’re simultaneously building four classes of ships and have pioneered the development and production of technologically advanced, highly capable ships for the surface Navy fleet for decades. The Role Support Business Manager in all financial aspects of the program including the following areas: Program Control: Primary focal point of contact for all Navy related EVMS issues including CPR reporting, variance analysis, compliance requirements and review of program estimated, budget and actual performance. Program Finance: Monthly financial analysis including but not limited to EAC development, Risk and Opportunity management, profit plans, revenue recognition, and financial forecasting. The role will also support invoicing, cash management, development of financial presentations for senior leadership including contract performance and Quarterly EAC review as well as supporting Annual Operating Plan preparation and submittal. Contracts and Pricing: Review and approve correspondence with the Navy customer. Provide guidance to the program on contract related issues. Review and approve change proposals including negotiation and definitization. Develop strategies to equitably resolve contract disputes. Develop budget distribution strategies for contract changes (PWA) Program Support: Provide business analysis and guidance to the program management team for any financial related issues such as outsourcing, schedule impacts, capital expenditure and work force development projects, phase/hot wash review and budget/EAC management, including Risk and Opportunity management. The role also provides business guidance for all new business opportunities including proposal review, risk analysis and negotiation support and support Ingalls Government Customer Relations (GCR) team by providing input for on-going budget recommendations and fiscal planning processes. Organizational Responsibilities will also include assisting with management of program finance and program control staff including yearly progress reviews, staffing concerns and overall employee engagement while also indirectly supporting the management contracts and pricing team to ensure adequate program support.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline , plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
  • US Citizenship Required for this Position
