About The Position

Manages daily activities related to Collections and Medicare/Billing ensuring processes are performed efficiently and effectively. Evaluate, design and implement systems and workflows for the Government Department to maximize reimbursement within all applicable rules and regulations for all payers. Be knowledgeable of all Government medical insurance practices, procedures and ensure departmental compliance with federal, state and organizational rules, regulations, policies and other guidelines. Builds and fosters team success, communicates vision and overall direction for the department, develops people, manages and mediates conflict to build a strong team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma required, some college hours in a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years patient accounting environment with at least 1 year managerial/supervisory experience.
  • 1-2 years of hospital revenue cycle experience.
  • 1-2 years Medicare billing/collection experience required.
  • 1-2 year facility credentialing and regulatory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare insurance billing relating to patient reimbursement.
  • General accounting knowledge required.
  • Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and patient accounting system.
  • Excellent customer service skills required as well as good written/oral communication skills.
