About The Position

Master Halco , North America’s leading manufacturer/distributor of fencing and perimeter security products is seeking a Galvanized Laborer at our manufacturing plant. This position performs an array of functions including: Maintain and wear the appropriate safety equipment as required; including but not limited to approved safety footwear, safety glasses, hard hat with face shield, protective gloves, protective apron and/or other safety equipment for safe handling of material. Verify the safe operating condition of equipment, racks, and other devices used in the process. Report any unsafe conditions immediately to the maintenance supervisor. Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Ability to work independently
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
One to three months related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Ability to write simple correspondence in English.

Responsibilities

Repetitive heavy lifting and continuous bending.
Maintain communication with and assist all co-workers in preparing and processing material.
Assist crane operators in hooking and unhooking material as required.
Maintain production schedule by locating raw material to be processed, loading and unloading material, removing miscellaneous debris prior to and after process, removing and/or banding material as required and locating area for finished product.
Assist kettle operators in drossing and cleaning work area as required.
Verify quantity before and after process. If material is lost, immediately notify the appropriate area to locate and assist as required.
Verify the quality of the material as per tag or work order prior to processing and the quality of the finished galvanized product.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
