About The Position

Key Responsibilities Shift Leadership & Employee Support Provide on-shift leadership for molding and other production areas during the 2nd shift. Serve as one of the primary points of contact for operators, leads, and support staff when supervisors or managers are not on site. Assign and adjust work priorities based on production needs, staffing levels, and machine availability. Ensure employees follow safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Support training of new employees and cross-training of existing staff. Promote teamwork, communication, and a respectful workplace culture. Maintenance & Technical Duties Perform basic to intermediate maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, minor repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems. Respond promptly to machine downtime, quality-impacting issues, and safety concerns. Escalate complex maintenance needs to the Maintenance Manager or on-call technician. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they impact production. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, downtime, and repairs. Support CNC changes, mold changes, machine setups, and equipment startups as needed. Operational Oversight Monitor production flow, cycle times, scrap levels, and quality indicators throughout the shift. Communicate shift updates, issues, and accomplishments to the day‑shift leadership. Ensure proper handoff between shifts, including equipment status, staffing notes, and outstanding maintenance items. Assist with enforcing 5S, housekeeping, and safety compliance across the facility. Qualifications Required 2+ years of experience in plastics molding, manufacturing, or maintenance. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. Demonstrated leadership ability or prior lead/supervisor experience. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all levels. Willingness to work 2nd shift and respond to urgent issues as needed. Preferred Experience with injection molding or plastics processing equipment. Prior experience in a dual‑role or cross-functional position. Basic understanding of quality systems and production reporting. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving equipment. Work Environment This role operates primarily on the production floor and requires frequent interaction with operators, leads, maintenance staff, and quality personnel. The position is expected to model professionalism, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset at all times. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in plastics molding, manufacturing, or maintenance.
